What kind of world is this where that guy was allowed to walk free among innocent people and children? What does it take to get someone put in an asylum for life? Or do we just wait until they rape and kill a child before putting them in prison? Yes, that’s what we do. Melt over.

Never EVER underestimate how lazy and inefficient LEOs and judges are.

Hemphill told us Callihan was treated at various institutions and was recently kicked out of a facility on the Northshore.
I imagine you have to be pretty screwed up to get kicked out of the psych ward.

Either pretty screwed up or they decided he was using them for a cot and three meals a day.

Psych facilities are under a lot of pressure to turn over who is in the beds unless there is a major diagnosis requiring them be kept.
This sick frick may either have lied his way into a discharge or whatever he has wasn’t considered severe enough for a longer stay.

I'm not convinced it will go to trial in either jurisdiction. They may both be allowed to plea and get life without parole for multiple reasons, a big one being what the family wants. Keep in mind, the 6 year old's testimony may be needed and that may be way too much for the child to bear even if allowed to testify via video.
Which is why they could entertain something like life for her to solidify death penalty for him without making the kid testify - depending on how involved she was at various steps.

Three different jurisdictions are involved.
Next week it's federal. with the other two follow any agreements that happen next week, or will there be different charges in different jurisdictions...so very different agreements could be in play?
