Any of you ol' baws ever moved to a different area of the country and miss home? My crazy arse is out here in the pacific northwest and I need to get a few things off my chest about the PNW.

1. Slower traffic keep right. GET THE frick OVER ON THE INTERSTATE. These zombies drive around here like noone's in a hurry, frick all that.

2. Do I really have to wait 3-5 minutes each time I go to the gas station for someone to come outside and pump my gas, which I am more than capable of doing myself?

3. Would it kill a mother fricker to fry up a chicken biscuit? Once you go west of Idaho you are fricked unless you find a Chick-fil-a. Butter... have you heard of butter out here?

4. The white devil is scarier than the boogie man. If you are a white male you better be ready to "tear down the patriarchy" or else you are a chauvinist pig.

5. I went to a sports bar to watch the final 4 and had to request the food network be changed. Legit and true story.

For you lucky baws who are in God's country, be thankful. I miss the south.

Yep...I moved out west after college for work. I found it interesting and different at first, but I soon started to miss the south a lot. I now realize that I will not live outside of the south again.

Been there, done that.

Mardi Gras and no one knew it.

Never hot enough in the Summer.

Walked into a sports bar and they told us we had to remove our hats.

frick the north.

God speed brother. I hope you are liberal in thought and practice. Beyond the politics though, you will have to get used to the slow pace of things... waiting 5 minutes after sitting down at a restaurant to get your drink order... people driving below the speed limit... shitty beaches which are "the prettiest beaches in america". Get ready to freeze your arse off on the coast. There's no "laying out". Dear lord, find a way to bring me home.

I can't wait for the next opportunity to live somewhere outside of the south. Preferably in the mountains.

I dont care what people do or look like, as long as people dont bother me, or try to force a way of life, I dont have anything against them.

People need to be different, differences help an individual realize what they enjoy about others. Personally I'm anxious about simple things I know I take for granted about Louisiana. As much as there are things I hate, there are things I love.

ETA

A lot of people say food for example, I can cook cajun and creole. No problem, problem is finding the right ingredients on short notice there lol

Same here, you'll do fine here, it's not as bad as I made it. Just having a moment of nostalgia for the days of old I guess. Home's in Dixie and sometimes you get home sick even after years of being away.

On the plus side there are some beautiful waterfalls and the beer is second to none. Good luck with your move man.

I've been to every corner of this country, and there are a-hole drivers everywhere. I mostly reject the idea that a certain city or state has the absolute worst drivers, but I swear there is something to California and people just cruising in the fast lane. I can't tell you how often I would be driving CA-99 or I-5 and every lane would be full of people driving within 1 MPH of one another.

Spent some time in Vancouver. I never wanted a biscuit so bad in all my life. Bagels suck!
