Sounds like only selective info is filtering through to the mother, or she's not buying what she's hearing. Certainly understandable she's not exactly of clear mind right now, but hopefully people around her aren't feeding her bad stuff. If it is as it was said in here, she may be needed to reel the son in from wherever he is.
