Yeah. Meanwhile, people will go to jail for nothing.

Still not the intent. I am not talking about prevention by arresting. We are talking about more of crime deterrent by presence.

People in all communities want to feel safe. Many of the hotbed locations of crime do not have enough crime deterrence.

That’s in the article. People are upset because the software keeps saying young black males are most likely to be involved in violent crime and that’s somehow unfair even though it is accurate.

It never is. Guess what makes no difference. And then there's
quote:

"Neither the residents of New Orleans nor key city council members whose job it is to oversee the use of municipal data were aware of Palantir’s access to reams of their data."

Even at the beginning stage, they operate like a separate entity.

And like the simple traffic cameras, I'm sure no dirty money would be involved in fitting a new techno system. None whatsoever.

Presence? So, Uncle Rupert is going to get his own security detail now? Maybe the cops will just hang around menacing the black neighborhoods, kind of like now. I say save the money, as well the careers whichever corrupt fricks get busted skimming off the top of this.

Sounds like James Carville (of all people) was the impetus for this secret surveillance nightmare. Carville: “To me, it was a case of morality. Young people were shooting each other, and the public wasn’t as involved as they should have been.” Yeah, right $$$$$

Fortunately, Palantir is pretty much a scam so we're all safe for now.

What follows in a super long article that is actually very fascinating and disturbing if you take time later to read it. We always joke about Skynet and frickbots taking over the world, but this seems to be far more possible and immediately real
Hopefully they start using it to hunt down some of these a-hole school shooters before they do their thing. If that means I'll be tracked a bit I dont care.

Something something give up liberty for safety something something deserves neither.
