Yes after a felony DUI they will take your shite. As they should. But 4th degree-2nd degree they do not. Fortunately in MN they punish drunk drivers.

And the innocent people that lend their cars to drunk drivers too. Because sometimes its just not enough to just punish the guilty.

Also, I am fairly certain this law extends to those not convicted as well, just accused, as in civil asset forfeiture. Its a big business venture for Minnesota I am sure.

Well it sucks. I think there should be some clause that the vehicle should not be surrendered if in a non family name. But it sucks that you can’t loan a car to a known drunk.

Usually this pertains to drugs as well. Asset forfeiture usually happens before the guilty verdict. I honestly don’t know the DUI proceedings in other states. But usually you have the admin hearing to determine if there is probable cause for the stop and testing. Usually if the state wins that, they will find the defendant guilty.
