how does "join date" have anything to do with age?

We all should live live Kings!
It's called sacrificing for your future.
But you said it yourself. It does get better for those that work hard.

Judging by your 2005 join date, I doubt your parents are boomers
What?
anybody's whose parents are currently 53 to 71 are BB's.

I love your logic.
But you've got me, sorta. My dad was born in 44 and my mom was born in 46.
I guess I should have joined tigerdroppings in 96 when I first started college. Oh wait...

my theory is greatlakes lives in his bubble and assumes all live like he does. which is why he complains. it's all unfair because in his opinion he lives life the right way and should be rewarded. ignoring reality and facts. so he probably signed up on this board around the time he graduated high school and figures noonan did too. classic signs of a narcissistic personality disorder developed on the internet.

Careful, he's probably going to come back with some talking point that sounds plausible unless you think about it. In which case, in his mind, he got you.

True.
Ok, I gotta go to bed. The baby usually sleeps till 8, but not always.

ETA: and if that's what I assumed, my first assumption (his parents weren't boomers) would almost certainly be wrong

More importantly, why the hell is she making pizza with a college degree?
The answer: she doesn't want to "sell out" i.e. She doesn't want a 9 to 5 because she doesn't want to grow up. Believe me, it's a lot of fun doing hood rat shite with your friends in your mid-20s. Eventually, you have to move on. If she isn't trying to learn how to run her own pizza place, she needs to grow the F up.

I mean... the main reason people go to school is so they don't have to do physical labor.
The reason that people need a college degree to do data entry, higher end secretarial work, sales, and the like is because there is such a saturation of people with college degrees.
Companies aren't thinking "We absolutely need someone with a business/English/general studies degree to make cold calls." People with HS degrees can do it. But a 4 year degree tells companies that the applicant at least sort-of has their shite together, and maybe picked up a few useful things along the way. Not only that, but with the glut of college grads, they don't need to pay them much more than they would someone with only a HS degree.
That's why the government needs to get out of student loans. Let banks set the interest rate based on the cost of the school and the degree being chased. Lower the demand of college degrees, lower the cost of attaining one of those degrees, and watch the number of jobs looking for a college degree plummet.

That fact remains millennials were dealt a worse hand than their parents
Not sure I'm buying that. Sure, expectations have risen over time but hopefully that trend will always continue. People just didn't go to college at the rates kids do now. A bachelors degree in anything meant you had a job back in the day. Now if you make the WRONG decision and major in something watered down like business/general studies/psychology/philosophy then you're one of a million other kids that can't find decent paying jobs. This shouldn't be a surprise.
I went the engineering route and make light years more than my parents did at my age. My wife on the other hand majored in Mass Communications and faced the harsh reality that when she got out she would be making less than most kids do babysitting. However, she was able to work hard and move up quickly and would triple her income in 3 years. My parents did not see that type of rapid pay increase when they just got out of school.
If you have been out of school for a while and still aren't making shite then you need to take a good hard look in the mirror.

Millennial here. Work 2 "day" jobs and am a professional touring musician recording an album and paying for marketing/design and pressing. A start up business if you will.Everybody my age that i know also works at least 2 jobs and can barely make rent each month much less anything else. I'm not saying our generation is perfect or better than anyone, but people have to understand that certain problems are unique. Yall can suck it tho.
You're trying to make it in an industry that no longer sells physical product other than merch at venues and whose DMCA is under constant attack. The operating cost and startup cost with regards to creating profit are enormous, and live attendance, like sporting events, is on a steady decline. Your basically gambling on a dying, but flooded, industry.

1. Sucks to be you.
2. By all means keep voting for assholes like Drumph. He and his billionaire cabinet don't give a rats arse about any of you. And hildabeast was no better.

that pretty much proves you think you are entitled.
No it's not. It proves we get put in a shite situation and the older generation just say deal with it like we did when they didn't have to deal with shite. Yet when we want to strive to change it we're "entitled". A lot of hard working people can't catch breaks. Try leaving the suburbs once in a while
