Just kicking it in the guard brother. How's bravo treating you? I hope you're not fricking up my mortar section over there.

Getting ready to go to 29 Palms for AT gonna be a break off. It's going good, we only have enough people for two guns, with no ammo men. We have two FDC's and two FO's though. I'm up to gunning now though. When I got in we were NCO heavy now we only have three NCO's in the section.

Citadel '03 and Jag attached to 20th Company A 1st in Auburn (06-08) and 2nd HQ Jackson (08-10).

Glad I did it, but I if I had it to do over I probably wouldn't.

I look back at it as a good experience, but at the time I hated every minute of it.

I wonder if anyone in this thread is old enough to know what a 15E30 was?

back in the day before you had a 30 suffix for most MOSs...

36 years 11 months and 7 days (but who's counting ) from initial enlistment to retirement...more ups and downs than a bad Barry Manilow song...

where is Tiger Dave when you need him?

Never served, but was an AF brat from the day I was born until I graduated college.

Not making the military my career might be my biggest regret. My dad was field artillery...I was born at Benning, landed in Germany on my first birthday (pictures of bare housing, and the cake my mom made after scrambling to the PX and Commissary are awesome), spent my childhood as an Army brat. Can't explain why I didn't follow in his footsteps. But I imagine my experiences as a kid in a military family are much different that being on the job. Still...I greatly appreciate (and envy) you guys (and girls) that did your time!

Admittedly I had a bad attitude at that time. I had the arrogance of both an El Cid grad and a lawyer. I was never the greatest rule follower either.

I'm a completely different person/leader now. I was too young to be in the position I was.
