I thought they were going to change up the APFT no? As I was getting out in 2010, they were introducing the Army to crossfit PT but it sounded like the test would be completely different.
Is your BOLC broken up into 2 phases, such as the first 6 months you spend combat training at Sill or Benning, then the next 6 you are somewhere else doing your Branch specific training? I was in one of the first BOLC classes at Sill and it blew donkey nuts. Somehow the entire graduating West Point class ended up there as well so the few ROTC/OCS LTs had to band together.

I got into a fight with a Navy warrant officer once for dancing with his wife at a bar on VA Beach.
Earned me 2nd Award PFC.

I spent some time re-training with FLW Marine detachment a while back. HOLY sheet, those kids are coddled. Our PFC's were a bunch of cry babies, I got my arse warned "LCPL Chesty, this isn't the infantry, we can't talk to our Marines that way". Blew my mind

I've been hearing that shite about the APFT for years now as well. No change.
And I believe the Army categorizes it now as BOLC I being your commissioning source (i.e. ROTC, OCS, West Point) and then BOLC II is branch specific. And MP BOLC has been some parts a lot of fun, and some parts completely dumb.
For the most part it has been a good time though, and been good training. OC and Taze week was not a good time, though.

The Snco's who used to run mortar PLT. E6W and E6D. You know to whom I refer.

Pushups, situps, and a 2 mile run don't sound bad

All I said was "talk to a SNCO, not at parade rest again. We will go out side.. Real Quick"

I went through in 2003 and you had to lock all your personal stuff in a locker and they handed it to you the moment you were leaving to go to the bus to leave. Not a minute sooner. But back then I had a sweet flip phone with a pull up antenna.

I don't quite know what you mean by this, but a buddy of mine is a MTI and he said you cannot curse, belittle, touch or haze anyone anymore or you will be reprimanded.
If it's training, who gives a shite who they are and that they are Marines. It's training.
