It's like some of you have never driven in a large city. If you don't want to move over for someone doing 100 mph, that's fine. He's an a-hole. That doesn't mean you aren't.

Ehh. I've been in a situation where a truck did 90+ past me JUST to ride on the side of the car in front of me. So instead of going all road rage like this video, I just used the shoulder to go around the car in the slow lane. Not proud of it, but that dude pissed me off. frick Hwy 90

Again, when there is a large enough gap for me to get over and maintain my 80 mph or so, I'll do that.
most of the time they don't even pass when you do get over.
they just hang out in my blindspot.

there is nothing "assholish" about waiting for a large enough gap in the right lane so that you don't have to slow down to slower traffic

Not sure how you gathered that.

I haven't debated whether it makes me an a-hole or not, and don't really care if it does. You continue to point this out, so I'll acknowledge it so that we can move on. I get it. You think I'm an a-hole. I think the person tailgating someone because they want to do 100 mph is the a-hole. Especially if they think that person should slow down by 10-15 mph just to let them by. Seems kinda selfish.

If you're holding up traffic in the left lane because you don't want to possibly deviate from your cruise control, you're an a-hole.

Not if you're in the process of passing someone. It's a passing lane, after all.
Now, if you are cruising in the left lane without passing, or trying to hold up traffic by matching speeds with the right lane, then you're an a-hole.

then I'll have to get back over in the fast lane to pass someone, and they ride your arse again. It's like they only want to go fast when someone is in front of them. As soon as there is open interstate, they slow down.

You're missing the point. You're both assholes, or rather to the point of the thread, both of these idiots in the video were assholes.

It's like you've never driven in a big city. Most people in a big city don't drive 85-100 mph in the passing lane. It's pretty congested. You're usually dealing with 1 person who is probably late for something.
It doesn't make me an a-hole for not wanting to get over, drop 15 mph, just to have to try and work my way back into the passing lane.

you think a little too highly of your opinion

I doubt anyone disagrees with this
but this isn't what we are talking about

I agree. I'd extend that to anyone that doesn't get over when they can because they're worried they might not be able to keep their cruise control on.

none of us, including the poster you're responding to, have been discussing the video for a few pages now
both were definitely assholes. Red car looked like he intentionally slowed way down to piss of the truck. That's a complete dick move.

I live in Northern Virginia and work in DC. 85 is the minimum speed in the passing lane for a large part of every day. Even at that speed, you're likely to hold up traffic.

get over when they can
I've said probably 10 times now that I will get over when there is a large enough gap. Just because Argonaut can't go without hitting snooze 10 times and being late to work, it doesn't mean i'm going to go out of my way screw with the slow lane flow of traffic just so you can get to work 5 min late instead of 8 min late.
Again, for the 11th time now, I will get over when I can and when it makes sense with the rest of the flow of traffic.

everyone is an a-hole, in every situation. That's clearly subjective.
