Mexican Marines are the only uncorrupted entity in Mexico. They're the ones who do the heavy lifting in the narco war.

And they are a very tough bunch. A lot of US training.

So legalize all drugs in America and violence in Mexico will immediately stop?

I've always found it freaky that being a federal police officer in Mexico is so dangerous that you routinely have to wear a ski mask when out in the field.

The federales driving around Cancun in the back of an Izuzu with a machine gun on the back are always a culture shock.

Is maintaining the status quo a better option?

So replacing the status quo with a option that isnt better, is a better option?

Round and round and round it goes with the "legalize it all" crowd vs the "prude crowd," and nothing ever gets done.

Well, what we do know is that the status quo has been an abysmal failire. If not legalization, then what?

Legalizing all drugs is an EXTREME position. There are certain drugs I'd be okay with, but legalizing all drugs is a recipe for societal breakdowns. I seriously question the rationality of people who believe legalizing all drugs is a good thing.

Decriminalizing drugs is reasonable route, like Amsterdam does.

Based on what? Society is still progressing. Most of the country seems to stay out of drug abuse just fine.

There are only two types of cops in Mexico. Dirty cops and dead cops.

Mexican cops = US politicians?
