I knew when Metairie landed Panera Bread over New Orleans that they were destined for greatness. LOL
is this a chain restaurant jab? would be misguided if so as NOLA has 2 and Metairie just has the 1

Metairie is the Land of Milk and Honey. Like Chalmette, it's where all the traditional Yat culture went to after it fled the quick post 1950s decline in Nola. Unlike Chalmette, there's a lot of stuff to do there and it doesnt smell bad. You also don't have to drive through the 9th Ward to get into the city.
Great people/culture. Very little crime. Smalltime Nola criminals do occasionally come around trying cardoor handles, but the big tymers know that JP has a 90+% prosecution rate and JPSO swarms like hornets onto any 911 call. JP contracts with the state prisons to take their longterm convicts.
There had been an incursion of crappy apartments that brought in some Section 8 type folks here and there, but neighborhoods are becoming extremely aware of even a sniff of that type of development and make a lot of noise to their councilmen.

Bad points? A Pedo for a Parish President.
