This article for whatever reason reminded me of a fellow medic I worked with in the Army during field training at West Point.
He was a young guy probably not even 21 and the first unit he’s assigned to is full of infantrymen; the only porn he told me he watched involved weird Asian stuff or mutilation with glass.

I think this is comparable to the idea of having something feeling better than the split second of getting it when you end up missing that having something to look forward to feeling
Especially if that something isn’t likely to be available somewhat regularly
Happens to me with a lot of shite. I love the feeling of something being within reach for the benefit it has on my motivation with my other priorities in the mean time
