I just bought a Nectar king. Great so far. Some complain it is a bit firm for a side sleeper, but it is fine. I slept on a firm memory foam for 15 years that feels like pavement compared to the Nectar. The Nectar has a plush model if you want to go softer.

I temper cloud. I’ve developed bursitis on hip as a side sleeper beware of firmness.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages, or is just a preference thing. We are from a queen to king and trying to decide if we want to stay with springs or try something else.

I have been toying with the idea of a memory foam mattress for years, but haven’t found anyone who will give me a straight answer on how long they last. If I pay $3K for a mattress, it better be lasting more than a couple of years.

Puffy queen $800 when we bought ours. We’ve had it for a little over two years. Like I said, love it.

I recently bought a new mattress and did a TON of research. Mattress underground is a valuable resource.

Durability depends on several things like density, type of foam, etc.

Springs and latex are going to last the longest. I tried a highly rated hybrid, but we preferred and all memory foam.

Refunded the hybrid with no issue and got the amerisleep

I have a Tempur-Breeze that's almost ten years old. Still cool, and zero compaction or breakdown of the foam. It still looks and sleeps like it's new.

So, all of you that have these memory foam mattresses. Do you feel they are superior to spring mattresses? Are they better/worse for people with back issues?

If you already have a good mattress you can buy a 3 to 4 inch mattress topper from Amazon and save big $$. There are several that run $50 to $150. Make sure you get a gel topper that will keep you cool at night.

I used one back on 2003 when I bought my RV that had a very cheap, uncomfortable mattress. It made it very comfortable with a reasonable investment.
