There aren't many politicians you'd like then.
No one is saying he's a role model for your kids. He's a boastful, arrogant, adulterous, brash, etc human being. The effect those qualities have on his job performance is another topic altogether.

A better example would be an employee thy got passed over for a promotion telling you that the one who got promoted is stealing from you, but when you check everything is in order, but their rival keeps on making all sorts of wild complaints against them but never having any proof and in the meantime the store is doing better than ever
