not sure any other major city doesn't have the same shite happening.
My city just re-elected a mayor that gave his young boy toy a $100,000 a year "internship" for no apparent work skills.

I'm thinking just another vacation. Like Hawaii, Amsterdam, Cuba....
If she's taking official vacation days and the taxpayers aren't footing the bill it doesn't matter. If she's going on official business for this while much of Nola has 3rd World streets I'd be pissed.

It is prolly about coffee imports. South America has become unstable so we may need to rely on African countries. Plus the beans they grow there are fantastic. Love some coffee from Ghana and Ethiopia. It is brightly flavored.

Well, I'd protest, but I have a job.

This is the only angle I could see that makes any sense. Still a stretch.

Tell me what Cuban and African companies we are trying to attract that isnt out of her control?
Do you realize the US has strict sanctions and restrictions on doing business with Africa and Cuba? We even have travel restrictions on traveling to and from those countries?
Do you have any idea the shite we go through just to wire money to and from those countries, as well as Trinidad and Venezuela?
Of course you don’t...

So, no economic development can occur. Gotcha.

I'm not here arguing any of that, but you are telling me that promoting the city and trying to attract foreign businesses to do business in the city 'is not her job' and I'm telling you you're wrong.
But keep the melt up bozo, it's entertaining

You think the mayor of New Orleans is going to change those things
Lol
That’s why we have US Ambassadors and a President that sets foreign policy
You people are hilarious.

I’m telling you you’re still high and missing the whole discussion.
Point out where the reason for the trip to Ghana was to promote New Orleans and attract business from Ghana to New Orleans.
I’ll wait

Local politicians are better at international affairs. That's why when you buy locally roasted coffee the coffee beans often comes from Africa. Mayors make that happen not the president.

Sister city in Ghana? So is New Orleans just content to be a 3rd world city now? Just no longer trying I guess.
