would it even be possible to sneak in a belt fed 249 into the hotel? I never handled a 249 or comparable belt fed.
Judging from one of the large luggage cases or duffels i have, I could certainly get one into a hotel, as long as they have no metal detectors. Pretty heavy and the ammo as well... would be a lot to get in, but fully possible if security isn't tight

Someone fires 1000 rounds from a hotel room at 11pm his neighbors are going to hear it and call the front desk and or cops.
(I'd probably be hiding under the bed if I heard that coming from the next room)

Per Fox news guy in the room next door heard the gunfire, smelled gunpowder and called the front desk to report it.

News report said a guest staying on 32 floor of MB callled the front desk to report gun fire and smell of gun powder when he was awoken by the event.

automatic weapons fired at close distance are rather loud I'd imagine in a hotel. So call down noise complaints of gunfire on 'floor x' and there you go.

It's super creepy seeing the Vegas airport completely dark.

No way it was single shooter. In one clip you can hear two separate weapons firing. Unless it was a crazy echo, but it did not sound that way.
