re: Marijuana tax in Louisiana could add $128 million in revenue

$128 million seems low. And if people want to go with the "colorado weed tourism" defense, with only a few states that have legalized it, I would have to think we would see some tourism increase...especially in places like new orleans.

Very low.

Yea! Give the state more money to mismanage or steal

LOL! Jesus Christ, you are severely misinformed.
Ok it won't evaporate. It will simply shrink drastically.

It'd be a privilege to see the people, any colored people (because God forbid you'll come back with whiny bullshite like white privileges), gets a job and not worry about whitey being so privileged or responsible to have money to go buy it legally.
Wait, was the white privilege comment supposed to make people feel guilty? Because it didn't.

legalizing marijuana has so many benefits that far outweigh the negatives
I can't see how anyone can logically argue against it

I've noticed lately that the politicians rarely even bother to give a reason for supporting prohibition anymore. Occasionally they'll barf out a tepid "gateway drug" argument, or a sheriff will say something nonsensical like legalization would lead to more drug dealers everywhere. Mostly they just say something like "I don't think it's the right thing for our state" and that's it.

I'm not sure how legalizing a substance means it would take MORE money for law enforcement. Maybe you could explain.

Aren't test run now with weed being illegal after car accidents when impairment is suspected? (That last sentence is a grammatical nightmare)

They'll need more agents to make sure the taxes are being paid. That's why the Alcohol bureaus of Tx and La. are so large, they are tax collectors for the government. You can be sure there will be more bureaucracy and more cops.

Just add weed to their scope. The infrastructure is there already so it wouldn't be much more money to include weed.

If weed was legal here, tourism would grow even more than it is now.
And they'd finally have to move Jazz fest, which would be awesome.

Truly it will. Just like how people who live in dry counties don't go get beer at the nearest "wet" county line.
That's why people are flocking to CO and driving it back to their home towns so they can resell and have some to smoke.
I smoked some straight from CO Saturday in North AL.
The black market in the other southern states would be booming.
The only way it does anything remotely close to going away would be if every state, besides AL obviously, makes it legal.

Other people who have to scrimp and steal to get their dope money will buy it in the hood instead of waltzing into a neckbeard pot palace, paying five times more
Do you realize how stupid this sounds? The hood will not be able to produce a better product for less with legal weed store in business. Either way, it wouldn't matter because the shite would still be fricking legal.

That's not the same as a black market. Booze isn't illegal in dry counties, you simply can not buy certain types of alcohol there.

Yeah, well that's because the weed is cheaper in Co. There is profit to be made. There is very little blackmarket selling of weed in legal states.

That's not our problem. We can not make laws just because another state is against something.
I'm starting to believe more people around here want weed to stay illegal but they don't have a logical argument. So they just throw bullshite around about make believe black markets or whatever else they can come up with. It's something I've come to expect from the OT.

The Sheriff's and people who control the state are truly sickening. We support mass alcoholism, families losing their entire net worth at casinos, cigarettes, etc., all 10x more dangerous than frickin Cannabis. Yet Cannabis can bring in hundreds of millions to a state in a hundred million dollar deficit with higher education cuts left and right, shitty streets, terrible crime, and consistently ranked 45-50 in every statistical measure you want to be number one.
Do the right thing for once, Louisiana.

If you think I was arguing against legalization you're reading comprehension is as poor as your intelligence and common sense levels.
My post was a mix of sarcasm, facts and personal knowledge designed to make fun of your stupidity and the backwards arse thinking of the AL (where I live) legislators.
But I am still half asleep so maybe I didn't do as well as I hoped at making that clear. But I won't decide that based on your interpretation because your stupidity shows more and more with every post. So based upon your response I probably did exactly as I planned.
Edit. And instead of making another post for this I will just add this here. If LA legalized, I have to think tourism would go up a helluva lot more. I personally know of 3 people who have taken a vacation with their families to CO since it became legal. Sure they went skiing and did other shite too, but I believe that the legalization prompted the vacations. I'm even planning to make a trip myself at the end of the Summer and I can say with 100% certainty, that's a week or two that would be spent in LA spending my money instead of CO. And if just one of the other people I know did the same, then that's 2 out of 4 that went to LA instead of CO.
People from all around the South would make a trip to LA again that they probably wouldn't otherwise. Or maybe I'm the only one.
