When it closed, they said they were scouting new locations but everyone in the know, knew that they were struggling.
It wasn't originally a "chain" but it really became one as the company expanded and I think it hurt business.

Because it’s across the street from the French Market, it’s a tourist trap.
I even called the NO Health Dept. who of course did nothing, because the building is owned by one of the main property owners in the FQ, a man with a very recognizable last name.

The entire quarter is full of rats... 200 year old buildings and a high water table will do that.
One of the tv stations here did an investigative report about this a couple of years ago, can't remember which one.
True, which is why I said to specially avoid places closer to the river.
There’s also ways to mitigate infestations that work very well, which is exactly what the higher-end places do. They concrete every opening and make sure there’s no way that’s rats can access the building from the outside, and check the integrity of those patches regularly. Once you do that, it’s just a matter of regular preventative maintenance. Two places that are fantastic examples of this are Deanie’s and Red Fish Grill - I have never seen a single rat or roach in either establishment, and I have been in some of the most dark, dank, hidden crevices of probably 60-75% of restaurants/bars in the Quarter.

Would you care to share what were some of the worst places you have been in?

One night while out in the french quarter for a bachelor party.. Everyone was good and drunk and got pizza from one of those places. For some reason it tasted like the best pizza I ever ate.
The next morning there were a few pieces left and I went to eat it and I literally threw up. Part of it was the hangover, but it tasted nothing like I remember the night before. It tasted like arse, but I can see how what you are saying is accurate.
I won’t deny it either, the pizza is “good”. I used to eat it all the time until I went in the back freezer and realized how bad it was.
I definitely wouldn’t drink anything from a liquor bottle at any of those places unless I saw it opened in front of my own eyes and it didn’t have one of those pourers on it. I wouldn’t go near the draft beer because who knows when the last time the lines were cleaned (I’d say the ‘80s), and I wouldn’t drink a bottled beer unless it was brand new out of the case. That’s how bad some of those places are.

I’ve already said French Market Restaurant in Decatur is THE absolute worst, and all of the corner pizza/daiquiri shops are bad.
If you want to know about a specific place let me know and I’ll answer.
