The Northshore had/has a lot more corruption than most realize or admit.
That's an understatement. I remember my grandfather and later my father telling me of the political corruption in St. Tammany all the way back to World War II.
Back in the 60's some of the town elders wanted my grandfather to run for Mayor of Abita Springs. My grandmother threatened to divorce him if he ran because she didn't want to get wrapped up in the town and parish political shite. She won the argument.

The security guards used to be a joke but got real serious about the front gate after that.
If you're talking about the entrances to Beau Chene, that seriousness must have been really short lived.

Part of my childhood (teenage years) I grew up in Beau Chene about two blocks from where the murder occurred. I was a sophomore at LSU at the time. I just remember it sounding like a professional hit job.
Damn, that was a long time ago.

Has anyone e-mailed this obviously wanting to confess suspe...I mean, concerned citizen?

I personally find it disturbing when there is a high profile murder and no suspects.
It smells of corruption.

Did you know Mrs Coon?
Went to law school with her. Believe she was Margaret Penny then.

Don't know anything about this site or know if this may have been posted already, but interesting none the less.

Both of these murders are open un-solved cases in the State of Louisiana
Margaret Coon was killed 20 years ago, February 19, 1987
Lynn Nunez was killed 9 years ago, March 14, 1998
Both girls were employees of the 22nd Judicial Margaret Coon was an Assistant District Attorney along with Brady Fitzsimmons
Lynn Nunez was a court reporter for Judge Brady Fitzsimmons
Two people who worked at the same place murdered with neither case being solved. Looks like Fitzsimmons is also a common link to both cases.
https://lesbontempsroule.com/Fitzsimmons/Deaths%20of%20Margaret%20Coon%20&%20Lynn%20Nunez.htm
"The Coon evidence file remained on a shelf in the back room of the District Attorney's office
for over two years, where anyone had access"
- multiple past Assistant District Attorneys
"Lynn had no respect for Fitzsimmons"
- Lynn's friends and past 22nd Judicial Judge
Coon's case is the ultimate injustice. She worked daily to prosecute criminals,
yet her killer is free to this day
"If it Walks like a Duck and Quacks like a Duck, it is usually a Duck, I wish we had the case"
- La Attorney General's Office
Lynn's friends all say she knew too much
"Margaret was wearing 40K in jewelry, but the murderer had no interest"
- Investigator STPSO
"I told her to get out before it was too late"
- a friend from the Clerk's office
*** I assume she's not talking about the neighborhood ***
"An unrelated case revealed facts to me neither the DA's office nor the STPSD wish to pursue for reasons known only to them"
- exhomicide nola
"We hand delivered a letter to the FBI asking them to take the case, they have it now"
- La Attorney General's Office
There was more on the site, these are the ones that I found interesting.

We lived I. A condo across the street. My wife and daughter went to the grocery across 22 called Giroussos, upon their return my daughter spotted a beautiful Irish setter. She tried to get the dog but it snapped and was growling at get so they Allen the front gate
In the morning police all over. She was stabbed. She was gay so they thought it was a crime of passion
Several years later her dad contacted us, asking for details. They never count the killer. At that time anyone could get through the gate
Still unsolved
poor ce

So Judge Brady Fitzsimmons had Margaret Coon and Lynn Nunez killed. Im glad we were able to solve it. Better spread the word via the interwebs.
