Hospitals are also intended to run at full occupancy, like a hotel, they want to maximize the numbers of heads in beds. So the question is, how many of those beds belong to Covid patients.

The last data I saw, and this is one hospital in Florida, was 10%.

I need to look more, but it’s unlikely, and there’s no evidence, that covid is overwhelming southern hospitals.

They’re full because they’re profit making enterprises, that want to, and do, maximize revenue.

Ultimately, what we do know is that virus isn’t very deadly. It will end up with a about a one percent fatality rate, comparable to the flu.

This of course isn’t quite that simple, because the fatality rate for those under the age of sixty five will be negligible, and for the very old and very infirm, higher.

But unless you’re one of those older and infirm patients - you shouldn’t be worried, and you don’t need to disrupt your life.

The fear you see in relatively healthy non retired Americans, is unwarranted, and unhealthy.
