If you are concerned about that health risk then don't go to a bar that allows smoking. It's a real easy decision to make.

yeah, you are repeating yourself.

You can. Avoid places that have "harmful conditions." Make grown up decisions.

Or smokers can take their nasty, trashy selves and go elsewhere.

This is all moot, really. Those with sense know how classless and unhealthy smoking is, and (as was previously mentioned) the trend is the suspension of smoking in bars across the nation.

So smoke 'em while you got 'em, I guess. This will all be a non-issue soon.

I'm sure there are bars in the Dirty Dell you can frequent and still get your cancer. Enjoy.

And that is what makes America great, we all have our opinion and a democratic process.

Yes I think there are a lot of people out there like the ones who want "freedom" from wearing motorcycle helmets and seatbelts in a car. Screw everyone else, it's all about me.

Avoiding driving or going on street with cars is not a viable solution to that problem. I have no problem with those regulations

However it is extremely easy to avoid smoking bars. All regulations are not created equally.

If you don't wear a helmet or seatbelt and are in an accident....your insurance/Medicaid/medicare/whatever should have the right to not cover a penny of your medical expenses. Not fair to make taxpayers pay for your stupidity. And not fair for other people with insurance policies have to pay higher costs because you wanted your "freedom".

No, you don't read. I already said I avoid places that allow smoking.

Yes but smoking indoors is considered a public health issue due to the well known and documented risks of second hand smoke to others. If you owned a restaurant, if you were doing something that could be a public health issue(ex: serving contaminated meat)...you would get shut down by the health department would you not?

Yes smoking is harmful. Yes second hand smoke is harmful.

If I own the business, and the building, I should be able to have a choice. To allow or not allow smoking.

What else is there to say.

There are two doors, one that says "COME IN AT YOUR OWN RISK" and the other says "COME ON IN"

I have no problem letting people choose what door to go in. You just want to remove one door. It makes no sense, let people choose.

I wasn't going to get into all that but yes, those are the types of repercussions for those not wanting safely regulations.

Agree

We live in an overregulated society. We don't need more regulation.

So? You're exactly right. Smokers are fricking filthy and I don't care for them.

Run along to Slidell or the Westbank or somewhere else that is more commensurate with the level of trashiness you desire. Mandeville will do just fine without you.

Why do you demand a right have what you want but deny someone else's right to choose.

yeah well I think spewing cancer in the air in enclosed areas is terrible and should be banned.

Go talk to some New Orleans musicians trying to make a living and having to play in bars with smoke or the people that worked there. yeah yeah, find another job as if for some it's that easy.

I know NO bans indoor smoking but prior to that these were some of the issues.

I don't smoke

Freedom doesn't mean only approving of things I participate in.
