Just saying there is more aspect for some of these people than the final dollar amount they can get for their house.
They want to remain near family and friends and the neighborhood they made memories in.
Some feeling of being tied to the land in some way. Money can't buy that for everyone.

I was curious on the legality of that. Not like this guy would have many assets to pay any kind of judgement.

How big could their tax bill possibly be? Less than $1k a month at a $750k valuation. I'd love for my housing expenses to be that low

Just because I walk around in public doesn't mean you can take a picture of my face and sell t-shirts with my face on there, same principle here
