Who knows. It will be a debate between policy and common sense. Sabine River Authority followed the policy to the letter, but common sense would suggest they could/should have let water out before the weather event considering the lake was high to start.

I travel to Lake Charles next Friday, and if the interstate is still down I will not take this route.

Head North on Hwy 171 to Deridder take Hwy 190W this route is open...

LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

Water has receded in the eastbound lanes of I-10 at the Louisiana-Texas border, while water remains in the westbound lanes, Texas officials say.

"Damage has been identified and must be repaired before the interstate can be safely reopened," said Sarah Dupre, spokeswoman for Texas DOT.

No timeline has been set as to when roadway will reopen, but Texas DOT is working to expedite the repairs, Dupre said.

Best way to cross the Texas Border? 190 to the north? 82 to the south? When I saw that they are suggesting you go all the way up to 20 I almost fell out my chair lol. Trying to get to Houston.

I am going with the 82 route as the 190 one seems a little too far out of the way. I guess it all depends on when you will be leaving.

From Beaumont, go north to Jasper and east to DeRidder. Where's your final destination?
