Still closed....they say they are waiting on a bridge inspector to arrive, and inspect before they open it up again. They should have already had someone here to be ready at daybreak.

LINK

ETA: Second time this year a manhunt has happened in the woods of Ragley. They last guy got caught looking for food at the Dollar General there

That bridge should have been condemned 50 years ago, or whenever they opened up the bypass. It's been a ticking time bomb for years and this may be the impetus to close it permanently to traffic.

Good lord that bridge is a POS. Just let it burn and fall into that polluted waste pit

Nothing but shear luck, that bridge is in such bad shape there are engineers in the La DOTD that wont drive across it.

most of yall are dumb as frick with this hyperbole. The bridge structurally is not in bad shape. It gets a failing raiting due to the side rails, the incline grade and that it handles about 5x the original design.

yall just make shite up to suit your agenda. We do need a new bridge but its not about to fall down.

yall need to stop reading what some soccer mom who barely passed HS post on facebook and taking it as facts. Also understand opinion articles are not facts.

Yea the hyperbole around the I10 bridge cracks me up. It's not going to fall into the lake anytime soon. They just did some major maintenance on it a few years back.

Yeah I always bring this up but people just want to believe. Feds and state DOTD inspect that bridge all the time and they just did that work to help with an increased flow of traffic when they redid 210.

yep. after the minnesotta bridge collapse they went and inspected every single bolt on the bridge and changed many of them to larger sizes.

they have done a ton on that bridge and like you said....they even went and checked to make sure it could handle the traffic when 210 was shut down.

but dumbasses of the OT will beleive what some single mom with 3 kids said on facebook because it fits their agenda.

There is also the added comfort that you are unlikely to witness someone jumping from the I10 bridge. The 210 gets all that action.

Every bridge in America that collapsed with traffic on it had been previously inspected, and approved for use.

every bidge in america isnt the I-10 bridge and hasnt had the focus on it and the repairs performed on it.

are you in the LC area? are in in dotd? are you a structural engineer?

if not just take it at face value that you have zero clue what your talking about.
