I use Gillette because they're easy and the shave is nice. I haven't seen the commercial yet. I think i'll go watch it now on YOutube to see if it triggers me enough to skyscream and look for another product.

oh, and the Bambaw...now that's a solid name

ETA: That was pretty annoying commercial, with the wrestling scene being the most egregious. But not bad enough for me to give 2 shits about whose razor I use

What kind of shave soap do you fellas use?

I'm really digging two of Taylor of Old Bond Street's: Cedarwood shave cream, and Jermyn shave soap. Both are awesome. Still use Proraso from time to time. I use all of these with a badger brush. If I'm in a hurry, I use Jack Black Beard Lube which has the consistency of a hair conditioner.

Also got some from art of shaving at the mall that I like.

Careful. Art of Shaving is owned by Proctor and Gamble if you're trying to avoid Gillette.

I was going to mention this.

I was using AoS long before they sold out to Gillette (it was started by a husband and wife IIRC) and expected the product quality to take a hit. Got to say I’m surprised it didn’t.

I've used Astra blades and they've always performed well.

Oh another thing, proraso is all I use for creams. They will last you and don't skimp on brushes. Spend the extra and get badger hair brushes. It won't shed all over your cream and in your sink and let them dry with bristles pointing down and not on its side.

Do y'all still save money when you factor all the fancy soaps and lubes and brushes into the equation? Can I just use a can of barbasol with a safety razor?

Yes I still save money. The majority is in how much you save from using the razors. They are pennies on the dollar. I just like to use those creams. You can use soap if you want. I also nick my face much less now then when I used regular razors. Once you go this route, you'll never go back.

Be very careful with the feathers or you’ll cut your face up good. Very light pressure with lots of lubricant.

Feathers are too sharp imo. The best was the Gillette 7 0'clocks(again imo), but im going to have to go to voskhod for my next bulk buy because F gillette.
