Shitty Chinese construction is actually all over the developing world. In addition to being shitty, the Chinese love to destroy the environment while building the previously mentioned shitty shite.

I did a little bit of landscape design work in China about 12 years ago. The architect was chinese but got his degree at K-State and worked for a big firm in Dallas. He told me all the architects do over there is provide a design; no construction documents or specifications. The contractor just takes the architects pretty pictures and builds from that. Crazy way to build.
