Macy's has showed comp growth for 7 straight quarters or something, just had a terrible earnings quarter. Of all of them, they stand the best shot at lasting the long haul IMO. They have the best e-commerce by a large margin

Macy’s and JC Penny both have an online presence.

Most consumers don’t know that.

The problem they have is that I don't want to go to three different online retailers to get the stuff I need when Amazon has everything and sends it all in one box.

When Amazon starts delivering fresh groceries from Whole Foods in Baton Rouge, I'm just gonna start having my paycheck deposited directly into Amazon's account.

You have no idea how much I'd love to decide in the afternoon that I want to make, say, Swiss Steak for dinner, log into the Whole Foods site, click on the "Swiss Steak" button that automatically adds all the ingredients in my Swiss Steak recipe to the cart, and then having it delivered to me shortly after I arrive home from work.

Also, guess who's having Swiss Steak for dinner tonight?

Sears and Macy's are struggling even more.

Sears can get fricked. They're so unable to get out of their own way that it isn't funny.

A couple of years ago, I was in the market for a deep freezer. There was a model that I'd had my eye on and Sears was running a deep discount online for them, like $600 deep. I figured I'd brave the mall and go to their store to at least give a local guy the sale. The same freezer was full price at the store. I asked them to honor the sale price and they told me that Sears wouldn't let them (?!) and I'd have to pay full price on the freezer if I bought it from the store.

Well, the guy seemed nice enough, but not nice enough to take a $600 bath with him, so I went home and ordered it online at the deep discount.

Guess which store delivered my shiny new freezer.

So, Sears fricked their local store and their sales guy by refusing to give them the sale, then turned around and made them deliver my freezer because they were the closest local store.

And, that's the last thing I will ever buy from Sears. frick 'em.

Don’t get too excited. Amazon does this where I live and it isn’t as wonderful as it seems. Some times it’s awesome and sometimes not so much. Last few times we have gotten items really close to expiration date or produce that obviously was not the freshest in the store.

The brand, Bonobos, does this. They have a store in The Woodlands with a few pieces of each of their products. You try it on in the store and they order it online for you on their tablet. It's shipped to you. You actually walk out of the store with nothing.
