I love all of the basic white girl brands... Ann Taylor/Loft/GAP/J Crew/Banana Republic/NY & Co/etc.
Definitely be sure to try on regular and petite whenever possible because with dresses, I feel like the regular/petite thing goes out the window.
ETA: Squirrel, that's so funny... Your truth is my go-to line whenever I wear something new... I just say I've had it but never wore it
