My regular highlights are grown out so now I have grey sparkly ones and I am keeping them. My natural haircolor is not as pretty as the dyed one though and that makes me sad.

You could keep the subtle sparkle and get little strips of the pretty color mixed in. I do that because it's not fighting it, it's working with it (at least that's what I tell myself).

I had been doing that but my hair girl (youngster) goes way too heavy and it looks like I am trying to cover up. So I end up with a top layer of highlights and all the sparkles underneath. And this is the silver highlight specialist I changed to because my other girl couldn't do it. FYI- silver highlights turned copper on my head just like every other color does. My hair is an ugly brownish black color but as soon as you add any color - copper and red tones come flying out
