So my daughter is moving out to an apartment and it says move in date is August 14.

However it appears that they aren’t pro rating her rent at all. She’s supposed to pay the full amount. Does this sound right?

Why is she waiting till Aug 14th to move in? tell her to move in tomorrow

Yes, the warranty is held by the owner.

We paid for the month of August. Roommate is already in place and I’m seriously thinking about having her just move in.

If her roommate is already living there and you paid for the whole month of August, then she can move in tomorrow. Who did she sign the lease with?

They will show you rental summary by days in the lease divided by 12 equal payments, thereby proving it is prorated.

And you will want them to have those days to recarpet, paint and get the place ready.

But it still kinda sucks.

Everything is done. The furniture is even there already, that’s the infuriating thing. Her roommate has been living there for the past year.

It sounds like the place is ready. Her roommate is already living there

If her roommate already moved in, then of course she owes for the whole month.

Unless her and the roommate have an agreement. Either way the apartment complex still wants their monthly rent.

I have no problem paying for the whole month but they don’t want to let her move in until August 14, when her lease officially starts. Oh and rent was due the 1st of course.

A newly graduated student just told me a few days ago this is the worst managed apartment around LSU. Just a head's up.

Yes, I’m finding this out now. I can’t get anyone to talk to me or call me back about J1 moving in tomorrow and I’ve been trying since July.

Randall would have been cheaper. But you have to be a bottom... Doesn't bother some.
