My cat is currently sleeping on the table outside and living a good life. Without me taking her in she would probably be dead by now.

Maybe, but hound care involves lots of sleeping and barking / sniffing when not sleeping. The barking 2 - 3 hours before actual feeding time can cause stress tho.

Especially hounds, they are not a "people pleaser" breed like labs. The older hounds do need lots of care as the health issues add up. Building a handicap ramp for the doggie door this weekend for my old lady. Took a cushion out of the couch so she could still hop up to sleep at night.
