Honestly, I didn't decide. I swore I'd never get another, just hurts too much when they die. It's probably been close to 8 years or so.
A month ago, fiancee was driving through parking lot with a PetSmart. They were doing dog adoptions and she saw a litter of boxer mixes. She called me, I refused to go see them. She begged. I had somewhere else I needed to be.
She convinced me just to drive by and look at her through the window. That led to me parking. That led to me holding the puppy....
So honestly, I never decided I was ready. I would prefer to have adopted a grown dog. The puppy is like having a new baby. A lot of work. But I do love him.
And at my age, it's possible he outlives me, so I won't have to deal with the loss!!

Butters and the Jeep are fine. I will give him a treat...I call him potato now cause he is such a chunk
I’m doing pretty good as well in my post divorce life. Just trying to navigate a new life for myself. Started dating beginning of March and had a horrific very first date after the divorce...guy was legit nuts but made for a funny story to tell(I seriously won worst first date ever now). Now...I’ve been seeing someone the past several weeks who is pretty awesome (and thinks I’m amazing and gorgeous and tells me this on a regular basis) but just taking things slow.
Hope you and Fes are both doing well.

I’m out of angry and wanting revenge phase. I’m now just glad I’m no longer trapped in that relationship and have to deal with him anymore. Can just focus on myself and what I want to do and be with someone that treats me the way I should have been treated for a really long time.
