If you are considering moving to FL, acreage is best. The Old folks' neighborhoods all have Nazi HOA's. We toned our HOA down quite a bit. They used to have 3 hags with 3 clipboards that walked the streets every evening, looking for anything they could send a nasty letter about.
They sent me one. I sent word to them that if I ever received another nasty, threatening letter, about inconsequential minutiae, we would meet face to face.
