the heart-wrenching thing for me, and perhaps heartwarming, was that we tried to break it to our girls when they were six or seven or so that the one dog was not doing real well and the time may come where we're going to have to take her to the vet and they'll give her a shot to make her die. And we said you know put it out of her pain and all that. I don't think it was a month or two months later the girls came up to my wife and I and said we think it's time. And we didn't know what they were talking about and ask them Time for What? And they said it's time to give Casey that shot cuz she doesn't seem to be happy anymore.

I'm so grateful that we have the ability to end their suffering but WHY CAN'T WE FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE THEM LIVE LONGER?!?

Thanks. I'm thinking about shaving my legs this summer. I'm going to need a sheep shearer to get through that mess.
