No. My heart issues were from a "cleft" mitral valve if had since birth. I'd lived with it my whole life and didn't know I had any heart problems. Only in July of 2016 did the problem start getting bad enough to notice. That's when I first went to my hometown docotors. Between them and the start of November I was in and out of their office almost weekly and also had two visits to the ER. All the while my heart failure was getting worse and they were clueless.

The problem with my old docotors is they totally ignored all the symptoms and signs of what was going on and instead of reffering me to a cardiologist, they let me get to stage 4, congestive heart failure and still didn't figure it out.

My last Visit to my hometown doctors was Nov 3. According to my medical records of that visit they noted I was jaundiced, severely swollen, had a heart rate above 150, and my blood worked showed my liver, thyroid, and kidneys had virtually shut down. Their recomendation for that visit was "lose weight and exercise".

That's why I'm suing them. I was in stage IV heart failure, clearly showed all the symptoms, and they still missed it. Even with blood work, they missed it. My ankles were so swollen I couldn't even put on my boots. My breathing was so bad I would be winded after walking across a room. Hell, my heart rate stayed above 150 BPM and they missed it.

No I only explained to Hammer where my heart issues came from because he asked. I didn't mention anything about my month in the hospital, my surgeries,the complications that followed, or my ongoing recovery.

He simply asked a question and I answered it.


ETA: As for the "sojourn to the other side?" there's nothing really to tell. I didn't know it had happened until hours later when I woke up hooked to a ventilator. I've ben told by nurses, doctors, and my wife what went on that night but I have no actual memory of any of it past 6:00 or before 1:00. Sorry.
