I've never lit my fireplace. Too much work for me but it would be so nice on these chilly, dreary nights.

HC, You should get you some of those relatively cheap fire logs and a bundle of wood from supermarket. You can break the fire logs in half. They light pretty easily and you could have you a fire within 30 minutes with nothing more than a lighter, really.

I am allergic to wood burning so my last two houses had an electric fireplace inside the woodburning one. My little house now has the electric one in front of the real one.

One of my friends has a crib in Carmel a street over from the beach. It's owned by his Family Limited Partnership due to a divorce in the family.
