This is my 8 yr old's softball. The latest they schedule game time is 7:15 PM. Of course more often than not a 7:15 PM game might not actually start until 7:30 PM. There's a 10 bat per inning and one hour game rule though so they don't tend to overrun too long.

I'm keeping the book this year. I enjoy it but I miss coaching, especially sitting there watching how her coaches don't have a clue what they're doing. They're nice guys. And they're good to the girl's. They just don't know anything about the game or how to teach kids how to play it.

Some good examples:

1. Rarely do they have the girls hit off a a tee, batting stick, or even get in the batting cage before a game.

2. Three times this season the first base coach has sent a runner to second when the 1st baseman already has ball in hand.

3. At least five or six times we've had multiple runs scored on us because the HC yelled at our third baseman to make a throw to 1 to get an out when we had runners already on 1 and 2 and less than 2 outs. All she should have done in this situation is run over and tag her bag. I'd say about half the runs we've had scored on us this season is because of throwing the ball behind the lead runner.

4. Our batting order is totally out of whack and makes no sense. Our best hitter (not my daughter) by far is hitting over .900 (it's coach pitch) and only has 2 RBIs. and we're halfway through the season. As a team we're batting a little over .500 but have only produced 41 RBIs out of 169 total hits.

5. Our girls have yet to be taught how to either make the turn or run through 1st base. My daughter is the only onw of the team who does it and that's because I took the time to teach her how to do it one night before a game.
