I need a grill. Tired of going to by brothers any time I want to grill up some meat.

No DUI-- *knock on wood*

I'm actually pretty damn responsible when it comes to drinking and driving. There's no point when I have so many friends near me. also, cabs are really cheap.

stay safe out there.

you can get an inexpensive charcoal grill for next to nothing... Can still make great food on them.

Or a used microwave off Craigslist. I'm micro-smoking a brisket tonight.

Thats all he has anyway. Just a basic charcoal grill. I wouldnt mind the convenience of being able to just turn on the fire and grill up some chicken during the week really quick, but charcoal isnt very expensive or difficult.

what is your process? Do you start in the oven and finish on grill?

I had some of the most delicious ribs I've ever eaten at a buddies house a month or two ago. He smoke them for a few hours and they were perfect. No oven.

They come out pretty decent that way... low and slow in the oven, then grill 'em.

I would love to smoke them but I can only work with the tools I am given.

I've typically started in the oven and finished on the grill. But I don't believe MBP's recipe starts with that process.

Then oven to grill wouldn't be a bad method.

Do you have an oven or do you have to borrow that from your brother too?

Ha I am saying I have done them twice, both at his house. I wrapped them in foil after seasoning, low and slow in the oven, then finished over the coals. Comes out pretty good and tender.

My uncle has this big commercial kitchen trailer with a walk in smoker. When he makes ribs you go to pick one up and you end up with just a bone in your hand... meat falls right off. They are so fricking wonderful.

Not that it will taste as good as ribs on the grill. But I found this company out of Seattle called ChefSteps and they have an interesting Apartment Ribs recipe
