Yall know more about this more than I do, but will all medical providers eventually be required to use electronic medical records?
I switched doctors about two years ago because the doctor I had gone to for years was behind the times, so to speak.
When I had to get a refill on my prescription, I had to call. Sometimes, whoever I talked with would write down the message and the doctor would never get it, etc. I would have to call a week in advance to make sure I would get it on time. Part of the problem was how the place was managed (it was taken over by Our Lady of the Lake and they had trouble adjusting to "a new system" and I think they eventually just decided to keep doing things they did in the past)..
Anyway, now, I have the mychart app. When I need a refill, I just open the app, request a refill and in the same day it's filled. One time I had a bad infection on my leg from a spider bite. I had a question, I sent a DM to them and they got back to me within 5 mins. If that was my old doctor, I would have had to make an appointment, wait a day or two, etc, etc. I don't understand why any medical provider would not use electronic records... But they are out there.
