Codeman I got some advice for you.
Diamonds are for suckas. Its all one big marketing scheme to get men to spend a lot more money on diamond rings than they should.
Diamonds depreciate.
Suggest doing the tattoo thing.. Where you tattoo a ring around your finger.

Think about it this way. She’s supposed to wear this ring every day for the rest of her life. So she needs to like what she sees. And unless she’s given you input, you have no idea what she’d like. There are so many choices
I designed my own ring. I had pics of exactly what I wanted and the jeweler still asked me a hundred questions
Also, consider asking her how she feels about a moissanite center stone. All the rest of my stones are diamonds and sapphires so the ring was still pricey but not as bad as if I’d gotten a 1 carat diamond center stone. There are also lab created diamonds that cost about 40% less than mined diamonds and they’re the exact same thing
