I have a buddy that’s going back to school. He had a question about the following class:
Lindsay Waddell
Math 1021
LSU online
The reviews on rate my professor are all over the place from terrible to awesome teacher. Anyone have experience? What to expect for tests? Some reviews said identical to practice tests. He said it’s a lot of work and is unsure what to expect. Figured asking was worth a shot since many lsu grads on here. TIA

Bro you are taking basic algebra. The professor doesn’t matter unless you’re retarded

To his credit, he’s been out of school for 10+ years

This course shouldn’t even be offered. If you can’t test out of this class you need to be a BRCC Bear.

With LSU online, he will be teaching himself.

According to him, it’s a lot of work, meaning several problems due each week. Basic math stuff. Just seeing if anyone has had her bc online I saw a few say her practice tests vs actual tests were identical. Before I give my buddy this advice, bc I’ve had professors in those early classes do (just pull from a test bank) bc they lacked any creativity, seeing if anyone could confirm this is the case?

Usually there are 2-3 test banks. Some classes have practice exams.

This is college algebra. If he is looking up rate my professor for the first class in college, he may need to rethink his options

First day of college, very first course - walked into a math class and was greeted by an Indian math professor that spoke 500 words per minute.
That was the greatest sense of doom i had felt up to that point in my teenage life.

1021 is a YUUUUGE money maker, it ain’t going anywhere
All those non-STEM majors need a math class on their degree audits and the enrollments pay the bills for LSU Math Department.
