Those numbers are still not right I didn't see a link attached to them there genius, did you?

I never said there was a link to the final numbers.
Did you actually think the rush bid numbers were going to be listed on the Greek Life website?

Nevertheless, if you want to feel good and continue to think that the numbers I posted which came directly off the piece of paper I am looking at that has the final bid numbers broken down by chapter are wrong,(649 total bids: 92 of which were early bids...I can list those out by chapter also if you would like) then feel free, I won't hold it against you.

There were 40 rushees who's choice did not match with bids given and thus did not receive a formal rush bid, I might be wrong on that one too though... so you might want to check with Jr.

They've all changed since I've been in school. A lot for the worse. But one thing remains the same. PIKE still sucks.

That couldn't be further from the truth. Back in the day they weren't that good. When the SAE house shut down, the Pikes took out a big loan and bought the house. Now the Pikes have over 100 actives. Combined with the pledges its around 140 guys. Good try

Big numbers don't mean you don't suck.

I'd rather have 10 great guys than 100 shitty ones.

(I'm not saying PIKE is shitty, but you know what I mean.)

I was always a little surprised at how dismal Pike used to be at LSU. I'm pretty sure if you sampled 20 universities at random you'd find that Pike is one of the better fraternities more often than not. I remember that little dump of a house they had, in that semi-hidden area behind Sigma Chi and Theta Xi. I think TKE was tucked away back there as well.
I can see how getting a bigger, better house in a much better location helped them out. Even if you're in the position of just handing out a bid to anyone with a pulse, when rushees see the numbers growing then it's a lot easier to start getting better guys to jump on your bandwagon and that's how a crappy chapter can pull itself up into respectability.

It took pretty much most of the 1970s but Lambda Chi pulled this off like a charm.

When we hit 100 for the first time I felt like that was about as big as I'd like it.

It was too big for me once we got a house

Rebuilding a fraternity was a blast. Wouldn't change a thing.

As much as you say this, more people $$$ = more events and parties.

We are in that situation now. We were small but a tight group when I was there. Now we have 120-130 guys. We are asking ourselves if we should cap it. My response was to let the money roll in and get us on really solid ground and then talk about a cap.

More kids going through rush = more good kids going through rush = bigger pledge classes.

More fraternities will also start to look to open chapters at LSU too.

Angela Guillory will do everything she can to not let more fraternities on. She didn't want to sell us our house and hold it for a sorority that wasn't even looking to come to campus.
