It's clearly because Louisiana is on the up and up. We've got a booming economy, an extremely competent governor and brilliant mayors like Latoya Cantrell and Sharon Weston Doome.

Oh wait.

Actually it's probably people trucking toxic waste, used motor oil and shredded tires to one of our many recycling plants and landfills.

3 northeast states and 6 midwest states, I am going to venture an educated guess that a majority are moving to the Southeast. Is the midwest dying out?

If louisiana legalized cannabis for recreational use it would be amazing what would be done in that southern strip of texas, louisiana, Mississippi and alabama.

Wouldnt invite a horde of pot smokers. They're already there.

Highest incarceration rate..private prisons are the only things booming. Wonder if they kick back anything to lawmakers.

One word for you: Huntsville.

That place is EXPLODING. It will soon be bigger than Birmingham. It's already nicer and wealthier.

While Huntsville is booming it has a long way to go to catch up with the Birmingham metro area at 1.1 million. Huntsville doesn’t have 500K yet but it’s closing on it. Still booming but it’ll take 20 years of rapid growth to catch it, if it ever does.

They usually are the states with no state income tax(at top), then others fill in, who have thriving economies, jobs, etc.
