Louisiana police officer dies after being shot multiple times:
A police officer in Shreveport, La., died Wednesday night after being shot at least four times, including at least once in the head, according to reports.
The victim was Officer Chateri Payne, sources told the Shreveport Times, although police would not confirm the officer's identity.
No motive for the shooting was immediately reported.
The officer who was on her way to work at the time of the shooting, Shreveport’s FOX 33 reported, citing "multiple sources."

There she was, just trying to work an admirable and often thankless job, to provide for herself and whoever depends on her, and she gets mowed down in her own front yard.
SAD! I pray for her soul and her family. Whether this was a random event, a domestic event, or a sick targeting of a police officer - this has got to stop.

Cops are so hated, and underappreciated. Are there bad ones? Sure, but there are bad people in every profession. The majority are out here every day trying to protect us. When they walk to a window for a simple speeding ticket they have no idea if they have pulled over someone with a trunk full of drugs who is ready to do whatever it takes not to go to jail. Or have no clue what is going to happen when they arrive at one of those domestic dispute calls. Its a tough jon, for little pay

Spot on. My father is a Sheriff in a rural county and he is very active in the community. Pretty much everyone has his cell number or could get a hold of him. But there are the bad cops that do put a damper on the good ones. I also think it is our shite society that is ignorant and butthurt all the damn time. Everyone has to make sure their word is known and think they know everything. I feel lucky we have our law enforcement, but sad because of the lack of respect that is shown to them.
