The state is overstepping in a big way on this one. This is a legit site for breastfeeding, and it appears that the jury is still out when it comes to the harms of smoking pot while breastfeeding. LINK
Any damage done to the baby is likely to be minimal and definitely not worth a $125k bond and separating a mother from her child.

Rodrigue was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and child desertion.
There is def more to the story if she is charged with child desertion.
And frick that chick...not sorry for her at all. Finally a POS parent getting justice.
I've cared for babies in the NICU that tested positive for much worse and nothing happens to the moms. CPS takes away their kid, they get to go on being the POS meth heads(or whatever) they are and get knocked up again and have another kid, do more drugs while pregnant, cycle repeats.

i thought so too but child desertion doesn't have to be abandonment
the other charge is much more serious. but i still feel like 125k bond is more than necessary

A. Child desertion is the intentional or criminally negligent exposure of a child under the age of ten years, by a person who has the care, custody, or control of the child, to a hazard or danger against which the child cannot reasonably be expected to protect himself, or the desertion or abandonment of such child, knowing or having reason to believe that the child could be exposed to such hazard or danger.

She wasn't arrested because weed caused the seizures. She was arrested because a Schedule 1 controlled substance was found in her infant's system.

It doesn't say it caused them. It says the baby tested positive for THC.

And can you believe they actually started a go fund me for this chick for legal fees?!?! What is wrong with people?
Posted on 1/31/19 at 9:58 pm to BigDawg0420
Wrong. THC can still be found in a woman's breast milk up to a week after ingesting it.

I wonder how much pot you have to smoke for it to transfer in your breastmilk.
Second hand smoke is far more likely the way the kid got it in its system.

Arresting her is one thing but damn that bond seems out of line
