Anybody know of any good football camps for boys entering 8th grade? Not looking for glorified babysitting, get to meet some old player type of camp. Looking for one where they actually teach the game. TIA.

Mcneese use to do a good one. Avoid sending to LSU, too many players.

Assume much Brah? OldSouth, are you old?

Just because it's in your name doesn't make it you.

I never post on the Soccer Board.

You are welcomed to check.

St. Paul's has a decent camp.

What position you trying to groom the boy for? I'm not sure if they still have the lineman camp in Thibodaux, but it was really good when I went there back in high school.

ETA: Just reread your post and see the boy might be in 8th grade. I think he's too young for the lineman camp, but I could be wrong.

He'll probably play tight end/outside line backer.

Then you ought to look into sending him to Thibodaux. When I went in the early '90s the camp would work with those positions too even though it was intended for linemen.

It was legit back in the day. Pete Jenkins was there. JT Curtis was there with a number of other high profile HS coaches. There were a bunch of other big time college coaches/recent college grads and current NFL coaches/players would show up.

Kind of pricey, but here you go!

Actually, the price doesn't appear to have changed much since the '90s.

Newsflash: your son is not nearly as good as you think he is.
