Ascension was actually the #1 parish school district, slightly behind central and well behind Zachary community districts. Not bad considering how terrible the schools are in west Ascension.

Where are Livingston's scores so we can have the annual Ascension vs Livingston white flight pissing contest?

This is just public school?

From The Advocate:

Results announced Tuesday also included scores for private schools participating in the state’s voucher program. Not every student in a participating private school takes LEAP and other state standardized tests, just those receiving vouchers.

Highest percentage of students who achieved mastery level in the three subjects during the spring Louisiana Educational Assessment Program:

1. Zachary (EBR ISD)
2. Ascension Parish
3. Central (EBR ISD)
4. West Feliciana Parish
5. Livingston Parish

quote:

Once again, Zachary came out on top in Louisiana on the LEAP standardized tests, collectively showing high mastery in English, math and social studies, according to results released Tuesday.

So apparently the Baton Rouge area has some decent school districts.

Doesn’t Zachary have the highest per capita income in the state?

The tests are manipulated to give higher marks to minority kids scoring basic than a non-minority kid scoring basic.

Zachary gets its low-income students (minority and non-minority) to test well thus the district scores well.

It’s a shell game.

Public schools do everything to make themselves look good to the detriment of the students.

I don’t think LCP takes vouchers so not included in list. The Academic Recovery Ombudsman in Caddo Parish didn’t fare so well.
