Several years ago I lost weight, down to 180 pounds and I had people asking me at church if I had cancer.

Bruh if you're a grown man and at 53 you go vegan it's absolutely is the case of being a pussy chasing some pussy.
She still doesn't consider herself a "vegan" (she prefers plant-based). I consider myself vegan, but that came later.

Contrast 59yo Rob Lowe.
And I like Robert Downey Jr. But veganism is just retarded.

RDJ looks old for the first time ever….I’m about 15 years behind him. Better get my will together and pick out a burial plot.

Those climbers are ugly, so they are ‘vegan’ to pick up vegan chicks

A friend of mine once tried to sell me on his latest thing, going vegan. He got a new, hippy wife. He tried to convince me by telling me that the Roman gladiators were vegan. I looked it up, and he wasn't wrong, but he failed to look into WHY. Apparently, the gladiators saw this as an advantage due to the massive increase in overall body fat. They were less likely to die due to the massive layer of fat that had to cut thru, to get to the vital organs.
He did this for a few months,......he's not a vegan anymore.

He’s a drug addiction person. Been busted with crack, cocaine, heroin. Looks like that’s his diet.

He made $80 million due to profit-sharing deals just off of one of the Avengers movies
Wonder how much he has made all together playing IM

Logically speaking, we as humans have incisors and canine teeth for a reason. If we were meant to be vegan, we'd have teeth like a cow or any other herbivore.

I couldn’t imagine not eating meat. What made you decide to make the switch?
I don’t each much red meat outside of deer and Nilgai but eat a lot of chicken and some fish.

eta- and I was taken off metformin in three weeks (off hypertenion meds a week later). A1C and BP have been good for half a decade now.

Cohort studies strongly support the role of plant-based diets, and food and nutrient components of plant-based diets, in reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Evidence from observational and interventional studies demonstrates the benefits of plant-based diets in treating type 2 diabetes and reducing key diabetes-related macrovascular and microvascular complications. Optimal macronutrient ratios for preventing and treating type 2 diabetes are controversial; the focus should instead be on eating patterns and actual foods. However, the evidence does suggest that the type and source of carbohydrate (unrefined versus refined), fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated versus saturated and trans), and protein (plant versus animal) play a major role in the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes. Multiple potential mechanisms underlie the benefits of a plant-based diet in ameliorating insulin resistance, including promotion of a healthy body weight, increases in fiber and phytonutrients, food-microbiome interactions, and decreases in saturated fat, advanced glycation endproducts, nitrosamines, and heme iron.
Lifestyle changes address the root causes of type 2 diabetes and can ameliorate comorbidities while reducing the risk of polypharmacy, particularly in the elderly. Plant-based diets-i.e., eating patterns that emphasize legumes, whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds and discourage most or all animal products-are especially potent in preventing type 2 diabetes and have been associated with much lower rates of obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular mortality, and cancer

How old were you when you got that diagnosis? And how old are you now and what has changed on your blood work since then?
Not trying to be a dick but blood sugar was high so my doc put me on a med. I ate pounds of M&M’s weekly and now I don’t want any sweets.

quote:39. 44 now. My initial diagnosis was after My A1c was in the pre-diabetic/diabetic range (I think it was 7 something) two tests in a row. Haven't hit over 5 in the five years since then with zero meds. And the chronic hypertension I was diagnosed with in my 20's also went away. I spent 10 years taking pills and barely controlled it. It was gone after a month.

Also dropped 110 pounds in a year without exercise for the first half. Once the weight started dropping off my energy levels surged and I've been much more active since then. To the point I even quit my office job and took a more physically demanding job for the fun of it.
