All right. This post will be all you need. Avoid Thursday boots. They use a thinner layer of cork and after a while, you get the Thursday drop.

The best? Alden Indys. Period. Chromexel leather. Don't let these broke-dick motherfrickers tell you otherwise. These are the best.

I'm partial to Allen Edmonds Higgins Mills and Normandies. The Normandy is made out of Kudu leather, VERY soft and has a commando sole. Patterned after WW2 boots.

Higgins has dainite soles although a couple of models use lug soles. This one uses chromexel leather.

This one is the Higgins Mill brown waxy suede. It's more water resistant. I have the black version and it does great outside and in bad weather as well. Dainite sole and a storm welt.

I have two pair of Redwing Iron Rangers that I swap around for work. One pair is super comfy and the other pair is like they have really never broken in and they are two years old. I also have a few pairs of Thursday Vanguard’s these had a fast break in vs these Thursday Captain’s. The Vanguard’s are made with Cromexcel Horween leather and are made in the USA. The Captain’s are made in Mexico. Socks make a difference when wearing boots.

Try again. Indiana Jones wore Alden Indy, not Florsheim.

One thing i've noticed about these boot threads is that the flat toed ariat wearers really show their self consciousness.
