Looking for a local Lafayette news site/blog other than the advertiser

I was wondering if anyone knew of a local site or blog in the Lafayette area or a blotter.
Sadly I had a good friend die in a motorcycle accident last night & his long term girlfriend is in very bad shape.
My grandparents, who are not big on the internet, wanted to know if there were any details for me to print out.

Thanks , I've been gone since 2006 those are new to me.
He was 38 and a wild soul who had cystic fibrosis...we always figured he would live & die on his terms...we really don't think he would ever want her to be injured but life is cruel I suppose.
